Google got ./ (Slashdotted)#

Google's personalization is the best thing after sliced bread, period; but automation doesn't always pay, especially if you are possibly aggregating (fancy screen scrapping) without checking the upper bounds. Ken just sent me a picture of the personalized google where slashdot feeds says the following:

San Diego Spring 2005 Technical Summit#

Tomorrow morning, I'll be driving down to San Diego to attend the San Diego Spring 2005 Technical Summit. Other than regualr webcasts. this would be my third Microsoft event this month (SoCal.Net Technical Summit, Long Beach, LA .NET monhtly meeting), ; there is always something to learn.

Dr. Dobbs Journal - Now and then#

Couple of days ago, Ken gave me a vintage April 1998 edition of Dr. Dobbs Journal. Interestingly enough, DDJ's May 2005 issue was also about algorithms; reminds me of

Heuristics are bug ridden by definition if they didn't have bugs, then they'd be algorithms.
